Different tools are selected to carry out various urban analysis. Some of them:(1) urban growth of Madrid from 1700 to the present, (2) noise and pollution in Barcelona, (3) social analysis and surroundings impact of Royal Palace of Madrid, (4) territory elements as topography, lithology, orientation and gradient analysis, (5) Jan Gehl analysis of a street. 

The urban plains are executed as a synthesis of different elements as aerial photos, photos on the ground, visit and examination of the place, previous plains, outline sections, sunbeams and shadows analysis, or different databases. In this way it is possible to know the place and its surroundings and to understand its features, weaknesses and necessities.
